Hi Andi,

That makes sense. Maybe a simpler question is how do I actually mount my USB hard drive to the host? I received the following output from dmesg through ssh after plugging in the external HDD:

2013-01-11T00:50:37Z usbarb[2840]: USBArb: Device 0:name:MelCo.\ HD-PZU3 vid:0411 pid:01f9 path:1/2 speed:high family:storage version:2 serialnum:010A0000010A id:10007041101f9 owner:(null)

And also the following from /dev/usbdevices which is the correct device and it says its available for passthrough, so I figure I just need to know how to mount it as a datastore.

T:  Bus= 01 Lev= 01 Prnt= 01 Port= 02 Cnt= 02 Dev#=  7 Spd=480  MxCh= 0

V:  Available for Passthrough

D:  Ver= 2.10 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS=64 #Cfgs=  1

P:  Vendor=0411 ProdID=01f9 Rev= 0.01

S:  Manufacturer=BUFFALO

S:  Product=HD-PZU3

S:  SerialNumber=010A0000010A

C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=80 MxPwr=400mA

I:* If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 2 Cls=08(stor.) Sub=06 Prot=50 Driver=(none)

E:  Ad=81(I) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 512 Ivl=0ms

E:  Ad=02(O) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 512 Ivl=2500us

Thanks for your responses!

-Ben
