I have a routing issue with an internal router that is being used in a 3 host esxi 5.1 environment. I am using the FreeSCO router deployed as a VM. Each host has virtual standard switches setup for both Management and Stoarage. There are also two vDS switches setup, one for production VMs and one for a VLAN that has 5 VMs, these are available on all three hosts in the environment. The router is used to route traffic between vDS VLAN and vDS Production. The 5 VMs assigned to the VLAN are spread across the 3 esxi hosts, exsi01, esxi02 and esxi03. The Freesco router is physically located on esxi03. Heres the issue, all of the VMs physically located on esxi03 can see the router, can ping the router and have access to the vDS Production side. However, any VM located on esxi01 or esxi02 cannot see the router, cannot ping the router and do not have internet access. This is where it really gets weird, if I do a host migration of the router, whatever host I put it on, those VMs can now access the router and the internet, and the VMs on the one I migrated it from lose connectivity. Also, the hosts that I am using are physical, not nested. This is a sandbox environment and I have been working on this issue for three days. Any ideas or opinions would be greatly appreciated.
