What did end up working for me was going away from Converter Standalone and using VCenter itself.
I personally would prefer to be able to Converter Stand Alone as I can use it from several machines when I need to. VCenter (via Server) is set up only on one machine which is a VM Image itself.
I will study your comments in full and see if Standalone will work for these processes. I will say that Vcenter Clone and Migrate commands have worked very well once all was configured.
