What you're telling me is giving me a really bad feeling.

Sorry about this, I'd really like to tell you something more encouraging, but ...

Assuming the snapshot you posted shows the old vCenter Server's folder, you can see that there's no configuration (.vmx) file anymore. I can't tell you for sure whether the VM has been deleted (you may want to check the Tasks and Events) or whether e.g. a backup application tried to do it's job but due to the reused virtual disks had issue!?

If you ever want to use existing virtual disks, you should move them to the new VM's folder to avoid any confusion.
