@André: On my laptop, My IT dept has installed PGP desktop and Symantec Endpoint
I could not find HP Protect tools (but that does not mean that it was not installed)
@Jayden56: Thank you for the tip.
If I try to "monkey" around with the company laptop, then I must pay if it is damaged (as per company policy)
So eventhough I am tempted to remove the BIOS and reset it , I m hesitant.
I will ask my IT dept to update the BIOS, but that is a long possibility.
Also this specific problem started with VM9. I had used VM8 on the same laptop for more than 1 year
