sorry for the delay.
I have since months a running View 5.1.1 backend and since this all works fine.
We have now rolled out iPads to our customers with a mix of desktops between Windows XP and Windows 7 in German and English.
But since the View 5.x Upgrade the keyboard layout problem was solved.
Another thing:
I have no idea which iPad you have, but I have changed my one from an iPad 1. Generation to iPad 3. Genaration.
It´s maybe a "Generation Problem", but I can´t fix that.
