I have not finished reviewing the support bundle however the Windows 7 Virtual Machine does not have a Sound Card as evident by the lack of the following settings in the .vmx configuration file.
sound.present = "TRUE"
sound.fileName = "-1"
sound.autodetect = "TRUE"
