Re: DHCP Options VM View 5.1

With the Teradici Processors and the PCoIP Management Console, you can have the client, say Wyse P20, automatically connect to the Management Console, and using a rule there, you can have that device added to a group and apply the appropriate profile.  This is handy to push out the right firmware and settings (including SSL certs) to an out of the box P20.  To do this, in MS DHCP server, add a new Vendor Class and call it "PCoIP Endpoint".

Next, modify the Predefined Options, and add a new Option name.  The name will be MC Address, the Data Type will be String, and the code value is 1.

Now, in the appropriate DHCP scope, Configure Options, then select Advanced.  Select the PCoIP Endpoint Vendor Class, then select "001 MC Address".  Now you can put the IP address of your Management console here.  When the P20 (or any Teradici device) boots up and get's it's DHCP address, it will read this and connect to the MC and start doing what you've told it to do in the rules.  This doesn't require messing with SRV records, so for a multi-site or multi-subnet scenerio, you can define a specific MC based on the DHCP scope the device is in.
