Hello all,
I have got ESXi installed on our server. I recieved some VM folders with our test VM's listed inside from our europe office. Using the vSphere Client I uploaded the folders for the VM's to the servers datastore, but when I attempt to start the VM I get a :
Cannot open the disk '/vmfs/volumes/xxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxx-xxx-xxxxxxxxxxx/VM_files/BASE_VM_xxxxxxxx/xxxxxxxx/theapparentlymissingfile.vmdk' or one of the snapshot disks it depends on.
The system cannot find the file specified.
I have gone through the forums here and on Google, and have tried many of the suggested fixes such as deleting the .vmdk.lck file. there was another that suggested editing the vmx file and change the file name to one that is the same as the one that I had.
The file is there, but for whatever reason it's not seeing it. is there something that I am missing being new to VMware. I would have to start from scratch if I can't get these working locally.
Thanks in advance
