Welcome to the Community,

 

are the files you received - especially the .vmdk files - in an ESXi supported format? Please check whether a new vmware.log file has been created in the VM's folder, this should help identifying the issue.

If you want, post a list of files (with names, extensions, sizes, time stamps, ...) and attach the vmware.log to your next reply post.
