You wouldn't believe how many people forget about this 
Unless I'm mistaken, Unitrends' and Trilead's "full" edition require a paid ESXi license like all the other commercial backup applications. I'd suggest you test the afore mentioned tools with the free ESXi edition, to see whether they meet your needs.
