+1 i'd love to see a fix for this. Running on a macbook pro retina, on VM 5.0.2.
With 3D enabled I get a reliable crash on a guest ubuntu login screen, and also get a reliable crash when browsing to the nvidia website in chrome under windows 7.
In both cases disabling 3D fixed the issue, but ubuntu in particular is almost unusable without graphics acceleration.
