That is a problem and most likely at the root of the issue. Now we need to figure out why a second occurrence is not running.

 

In a Command Prompt try the following command and then see if there are two occurrences and if you can then DnD.

 

"C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware Tools\vmtoolsd.exe" -n vmusr

 

Note: If that doesn't work then try a Administrative Command Prompt.

 

I did end up having to use an Administrative Command Prompt to get that to work.  There was a second process for the user for a while.  But then I was prompted to restart the VM and the second instance did not reappear on the restart.

 

Okay at this point you need to look at the permissions in the Windows Registry as mentioned in Re: Missing Drag & Drop and Sound in Fusion 5/Win7.
